Communications Manager

DETAILS:

• $20/hr

• 35hrs/week

• 8-week contract

• Start date: June 30th, 2025

OVERVIEW:

Develop marketing and communications strategies to promote our summer activities.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee communications for Myths and Mirrors’ programming, initiatives, and events

Maintain website

Develop content for social media; social media management

Design marketing and promotional materials

Photograph programming and activities; organize and maintain online image database

Use digital applications, tools, and software (access to personal laptop/computer required)

Liaise with community partners, artists, media, and stakeholders

Act as an ambassador of Myths and Mirrors to ensure a safe, respectful, and welcoming workspace

Maintain studio/office and workspace(s)

Attend staff meetings as needed

Other related tasks and duties

HOW TO APPLY:

Applicants must be highly motivated, have a background in the arts or strong interest in social issues, and be able to work as a team member with minimal supervision. Black, Indigenous, and racialized folks, and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community are encouraged to apply.

As per our funder’s requirements, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Is between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive) at time of employment

• Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

• Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
