On Tuesday, October 13th (11:30AM), Myths and Mirrors Community Arts and Better Beginnings, Better Futures invite the public to the unveiling of a new mural at Better Beginnings’ main site, located at 450 Morin Ave.
The mural is titled ‘Mino-bimaadiziwin – The Good Life’ and was a collaborative effort by local artists Adrienne Assinewai and Raven Debassige, with additional support and assistance from Wallace Gillard. Inspired by traditional Woodland art, the mural depicts seven animals representing the Seven Grandfather Teachings, while other elements symbolize Better Beginnings programming and connections within the community.
Better Beginnings Program Manager, Jim Eshkawkogan, says, “We’re honoured to work in partnership with Myths and Mirrors to create this beautiful fence mural. The trees, plants and animals depicted in the mural signify our connection with nature… and will be helpful in the work we do through programs to promote land-based learning and outdoor play to families and children.”
The mural unveiling takes place TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13th at 11:30AM at Better Beginnings, Better Futures’ main site (450 Morin Ave.). Physical distancing measures to be in place. Masks required. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
