This year, we celebrate 25 years of building community through art. We’ve certainly come a long way since our humble beginnings as a three-year project sponsored by Better Beginnings, Better Futures, making us one of the longest-running community arts organizations in the country. Since 1996, we’ve been providing unique opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience and take part in the arts outside of mainstream settings, engaging thousands of residents in the creation of everything from murals and giant puppets, to multi-media theatre and collaborative soundscapes.
Throughout this year, we’ll be looking back and sharing some of our favourite past projects on Facebook and Instagram – and we want to hear from you too! Join the celebration by sharing your Myths and Mirrors stories, memories, photos, and artwork using the hashtag #myths25 or by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can learn more about our history here or by browsing our past projects and photos. This work would not be possible without the hard work, dedication, and vision of previous Artistic Directors, staff, and artists, or without the support and love of our community. Miigwetch, merci, thank you!

Let’s get plalking! Join us and Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury this April (for Earth Month!) as we show some love to Mother Earth by picking up litter as we explore our neighbourhoods! Then, unleash your creativity and turn that trash into art and share it online via social media using the hashtags #PlalkArt and #NeighbourhoodsTogether (and don’t forget to tag us @mythsandmirrors).
Need some inspiration? Follow us on Facebook and Instagram where we’ll be sharing some ‘Plalk Art’ ideas over the coming weeks. And for folks that don’t have social media, you can also submit your up-cycled creations via email to email@example.com and we’ll share it for you!
