WANTED: Dreamers… The stuff of dreams… Dream weavers | Published May 6th, 2014
Myths and Mirrors invites you to participate in dream sharing, borrowing and materializing. We will be at the Rainbow Centre this week for FAAS4, from Wednesday to Saturday (between 10ish and 6ish), making dreams real… And we need your help to make our dream of dream collecting and realizing… well… realized.
This is an official call out for:
(waking or otherwise)
2. The material to make dreams tangible.
(string, fabric, buttons, branches, leaves, feathers, etc… you know, the usual stuff dreams are made of)
3. Creative beings to materialize these dreams.
(the dream weavers).
You can participate in our dream by: sharing your written dream(s), offering a piece of material (natural or man made) and/or borrowing someone else’s dream to materialize with the material offered.
This project is in partnership with the beautiful dreamers of the Corner Clinic and La galerie du nouvel ontario.
FAAS 4: Foire d’Art Alternatif de Sudbury | Published May 17th, 2014
From May 7-10 M&M joined roughly 30 artists onsite at the Rainbow Centre Shopping mall to create new and experimental art.
Every two years the Galerie du Nouvel Ontario organizes the Foire d’Art Alternatif de Sudbury, which pushes the boundaries in contemporary art and brings art making into the public sphere attracting regional, national and international artists.
We incorporated the artwork and ideas emerging from its outreach art workshops in the Corner Clinic of the Samaritan Centre into our installation, Share a Dream/Borrow a Dream. Watch for an upcomming exhibit of the works created.
A huge thank you to the organizers, volunteers, participating artists all those who contributed to this inspiring body of work!

The 2014 DANCE-A-THON was Another Huge Success! | Published June 7th, 2014
Beginning at 8pm sharp on Saturday May 31st, the dance floor was shaking until 8am Sunday, June 1st. The amount of DancE-A-THON survivors doubled from last year with 20 participants remaining until 8am, topping of the evening with a celebratory dance in the street in front of the Fromagerie Elgin to the sounds of “Dancing in the street” by Martha and the Vandellas!!! Yet again we exceeded our fundraising goal of $5,000 thanks to so many: first of all our participants and sponsors, our wonderful prize donors, our volunteers, OUR DJS – DJ’s Trainwreck (Christian Pelletier), Paul Lowenburg, Max Silvertongue, Brendan and Eileen Roth of Dronesteady, it would not have been possible for our participants to survive and thrive as they did without their relentless, brilliant sound selections and mixes!!
A MASSIVE THANK YOU to Jake and the staff of Fromagerie Elgin. This event would not be possible without their generosity and all around amazing-ness.
Thank you to our supporters and funders: Ontario Arts Council, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Human Resources Development Corporation, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and the City of Greater Sudbury, River and Sky Festival, Copy Copy, Northern Lights Festival Boreal, All About Massage, Frank’s Delicatessen, Frenchy’s Pizza, Verdicchio’s Ristorante, Bee Hive Collective, Arts North, Eat Local Sudbury, Andy, Knapp, Iron Pan Bakery, Liz O’Hara, Petit Gateau, YMCA.
