Artistic Director | Cora-Rae Silk
Cora-Rae Silk was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is Anishinaabe with mixed European ancestry. She studied at Algonquin College in Ottawa before moving to Vancouver where she worked in commercial artist representation for several years. In 2011, Cora-Rae re-located to Toronto and began a career in community arts at ArtBridges, a nation-wide network for community-engaged arts and arts for social change initiatives. As the Indigenous Community Arts Coordinator, Cora-Rae’s focus was on community-engaged arts initiatives working in northern and Indigenous communities in Canada. Cora-Rae currently resides in Sudbury and is the Artistic Director at Myths and Mirrors Community Arts and a co-founder of the Northern Indigenous Artist Alliance (NIAA), an emerging arts service organization for Indigenous artists living and working in northern Ontario.
Arts Administration Assistant | Cassidy Houston
Cassidy Houston was born and raised in a small town in northwestern Ontario relocating to Sudbury to pursue a University degree in Health Promotion. An emerging musician and lover of community arts, Cassidy has began her post-graduation journey diving into the areas of work she is passionate about pursuing. With experiences on the Folk Music Ontario Board of Directors to her involvement in the Laurentian University community Cassidy is greatly looking forward to the future and the ways she will be able to better the future of community arts.
Bookkeeper | Nicole Poulin
Nicole Poulin is a Franco-Ontarian and has resided in Sudbury all her life. She developed long term relationships with francophone artistic and cultural organizations. Since 1977, Nicole has worked as an Administrative Assistant within the charitable and the non-profit sector and is still involved with Myths and Mirrors Community Arts and La Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario. In 2019, Nicole connected with ART Matters, an ad hoc group, who creates with local artists by making art accessible and building a stronger community.
